Personal Health Advocates assists you or your family members needing assistance with healthcare issues. Once you have submitted a contact form to Personal Health Advocates, you will be contacted by a member of our staff who then becomes "your" Personal Health Advocate, personally helping you with your issue, problem or other need for assistance. After obtaining the necessary background information, your PHA will conduct an assessment and make a recommendation for services based on your individual needs.

We serve as a liaison for you with your Health Care Providers, Insurance Plans and other health-related community resources. We offer a broad menu of services and can address many medical issues; including providing assistance finding primary care and specialist physicians and medical institutions and resolving claims, billing and related administrative problems. Personal Health Advocates also helps you find and access community resources, including senior care services that fall outside traditional healthcare coverage.

When I visit my doctor, I often get confused by all of the technical medical explanations. Can you help me to better understand what my doctor was trying to tell me?
Yes! Personal Health Advocates may be able to help you better understand your condition. If your advocate is not present, we will call your doctor's office to get a complete update about what you were told, but did not fully understand. We may arrange another time for you to speak with your doctor or, after we speak with your doctor's office and get the details of your medical condition, we can call you back or meet with you to explain in simple terms the status of your medical situation.

What should I do if I need to cancel my appointment with my advocate?
We understand you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. You can cancel or reschedule your appointment at any time with a minimum of 24 hours notice to your Personal Health Advocate. If you are unable to give the proper notice, minimum billing rates will apply.

Does Personal Health Advocates provide transportation to physicians appointments?
No, at this time we do not transport our clients to their appointments, however we will be happy to assist you with scheduling your transportation.

Is my advocate licensed, how do I know that they are qualified?
Currently there is no licensing or credentialing process specific to health advocates. According to Consumer Reports, “Health Advocates, who are often former nurses or other health professionals, link patients and the health-care system.” All members of our staff have current or previous medical experience and draw from their professional and personal experience in assisting you.
